Contents
Two manifolds are cut-and-paste (or SK-)equivalent if one can be transformed into the other by cutting it into pieces and then pasting these pieces back along their boundaries. This leads to a very intuitive equivalence relation -- inspired by the scissors congruence relation for polyhedra and Hilbert's third problem. This lecture course will study and completely determine this equivalence relation, and also identify precise complete cut-and-paste invariants. The lecture course will take place only in the first half of the semester (7 weeks). More details about the lecture course will be on the course's page on GRIPS.
