To this end we provide an introduction to the coarse homotopy theory and construct examples of coarse homology theories. We then construct the coarse assembly map associated to a coarse homology theory and show that it is an equivalence under appropriate geometric assumption on the space and some further mild conditions on the coarse homology theory.
