Contents
The aim of this seminar is to introduce zeta functions and L-functions associated with number fields
and to study the proof of the analytic class number formula. The analytic class number formula
relates the class number of a number field to the residuum at one of the Dedekind zeta function of
this number field. On the way we will also formulate the famous Riemann conjecture about the zeros
of the Riemann zeta function.

Basic theory of holomorphic functions for the first half of the talks and in addition Algebraic
Number Theory I for the second half of the talks
