Arakelov theory on arithmetic curves Semester WiSe 2019 / 20
Lecturer Walter Gubler
Type of course (Veranstaltungsart) Seminar
Contents Arakelov theory is a part of arithmetic geometry, where methods of algebra, geometry and analysis
are combined. Arakelov theory was popularized through Faltings's proof of the Mordell conjecture. In
this seminar, we will study the most elementary case of arithmetic curves for which only techniques from algebraic number theory are necessary.
Literature Moriwaki: Arakelov Geometry.
Recommended previous knowledge Algebra. We do not require algebraic number theory, but it would be helpful.
