Local fields and class field theory Semester WiSe 2020 / 21 Lecturer Walter Gubler Type of course (Veranstaltungsart) Seminar Contents Class field theory studies Galois groups of infinite abelian extensions in terms of topological data of the field. We will present local class field theory from the cohomological point of view. This can be seen as a natural continuation of the algebra course and is a good complement to the lecture on Algebraic Number Theory. Literature Serre: Local Fields. Neukirch: Algebraic Number Theory.
