Automorphe Formen und Darstellungstheorie / Automorphic Forms and Representation Theory Semester WiSe 2018 / 19 Lecturer Prof. Dr. Guido Kings Type of course (Veranstaltungsart) Seminar Contents In diesem Seminar beschäftigen wir uns mit der klassischen Theorie der automorphen Formen im Zusammenhang mit der Darstellungstheorie der Gruppe GL_2(R). Automorphe Formen stellen eine weitreichende Verallgemeinerung von Modulformen dar. Durch das Langlands-Programm spielen sie aktuell in der Zahlentheorie eine zentrale Rolle. Der Besuch der Vorlesung über Modulformen wird empfohlen, ist aber nicht zwingend erforderlich. In this seminar we study the classical theory of automorphic forms in terms of the representation theory of GL_2(R). Automorphic forms vastly generalize modular forms. Via the Langlands Program they play a central role in modern number theory. The seminar supplements the lecture on modular forms, but the participation is not required. Literature D.
